Position Overview

The Legal Counsel will be a key individual within the Group Legal Department and will report to the Co-General Counsel – Regulatory. 

The emphasis of this role will be on negotiating and drafting telecoms services and technology agreements but the individual will be called upon to respond to all manner of legal issues and questions. 

The role will involve engaging regularly with sales and commercial teams within the 1GLOBAL group around the world.

Key responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate agreements to support the demands of a rapidly growing communications and technology business including: major B2B contracts, technical supplier and support contracts and MVNO and international roaming agreements;
• Provide commercially pragmatic advice in respect of disputes with suppliers or customers;
• Support the development of template agreements for existing and new services;
• Advise on all legal strategy with particular emphasis on commercial issues and complex technology related transactions;
• Liaise with external counsel internationally to assist in providing effective and cost efficient legal advice and services to the company in multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements

Must Have:

• Admission as a lawyer in an EU jurisdiction or the UK;
• At least 2 years working in an in-house legal environment with an emphasis on contract drafting and negotiation;
• Ability to work autonomously and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively with limited oversight, efficiently and quickly, yet also being able to participate as a team player;
• Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise assistance on projects and contracts from inception through to completion and with a strong attention to detail;
• Ability to draft and negotiate in the English language and a high level of proficiency in the Polish language.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with a telecommunications or technology business would be highly advantageous;
• IP law experience or litigation experience;
• A keen interest in technology;
• 2 to 3 years working at a medium to large size law firm.
